Why I Started ‘Mimi Has A Life’ Blog

I started Mimi Has a Life because I wanted a place to write down this strange, full, interesting season of my life.
I’m in my early 50s. I live alone right now, but that is changing. I’m preparing to downsize, sell my house, and eventually move into a multigenerational family life with my son’s family and my mom.
That is a big shift.
I’ve lived a lot of years being independent, responsible, and used to my own space. Now I’m getting ready for more people, more noise, more family, more help, more memories, and probably a lot more adjusting than I can imagine yet.
At the same time, I’ve been trying to find more fun in my days. Audiobooks got me reading again. I’ve been trying crochet, piano, puzzles, coloring, and other little things that make life feel less like work and more like something I still get to enjoy.
That is where the name came from.
Mimi has a life.
Not a perfect life. Not a glamorous life. Not a life that fits neatly into one topic.
But a real one.
This blog will be about books I’m reading, hobbies I’m trying, pets I love, memories with my grandkids, downsizing my home, preparing for family living, and figuring out what this next chapter looks like.
Some things I try may stick. Some may not. Some posts may be useful. Some may simply be something I want to remember.
Either way, I’m writing it down.
